Let me start by saying thank you to all who participated in our 65th Annual SFV Chapter Beautification Awards program! We had a successful Awards Night June 20 at the Odyssey Restaurant in Granada Hills, and it was thanks to all of you. Thanks also to all the contractors that submitted sites for judging, and thanks to all our generous Sponsors.
Special thanks and our deepest appreciation to our Awards Judge Past State CLCA President Megan Rios of Rios Design in Kern County. Her experience and wisdom was evident throughout the selection process. And let’s not forget our drivers who donated their time and patience to cover entries from a wide area of Southern California, and to Gordon Larson who planned their route. Last, and certainly not least, major thanks to Bronwyn Miller of Eyescapes, who served as photographer and creator of the excellent awards video.
As in every year, there were lots of awards given out in various aspects of the landscape profession. These awards recognized the creative genius and professionalism of some of the best landscapers in the state. Although each project had its own merits, it was Julio Lopez’ company Cadre Landscape that was the Sweepstakes winner. I hope their awesome project continues to bring Cadre positive exposure resulting in additional work for them.
Hopefully several of these award-winning projects are entered in State CLCA’s Trophy Awards program, with winners announced at the Awards Banquet held as part of the State Convention in Carlsbad in November.
